Whenever Miley Cyrus committed to hosting this weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live," she surely didn't anticipate that her dad would be throwing her under the bus just days before she took the stage.
Billy Ray Cyrus set off a media firestorm by telling GQ that Miley's career tore his family apart and that he's worried for her future -- basically, he's verging on Michael Lohan territory.
But fear not, Miley -- the timing really couldn't be better. Plenty of celebrities have showed up at Studio 8H for a quick dose of damage control.
Granted, most of them are making surprise appearances, not hosting the 90-minute sketchfest. But for Miley, the hosting gig is a chance to simultaneously win public sympathy, poke fun at her own troubles and remind America that she's a typical 18-year-old.
